Itinerary
Day 1 — Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Dades Valley
Depart early from Marrakech and drive through the High Atlas Mountains, passing traditional Berber villages. Stop to explore Aït Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous kasbah, featured in many films. Continue to Ouarzazate, then drive through the Valley of Roses to reach Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight stay in a local riad or hotel.
Day 2 — Dades Valley → Todra Gorges → Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, continue your journey toward the desert. Walk through the stunning Todra Gorges, a paradise for photographers and climbers. Proceed through Tinghir and Erfoud to arrive in Merzouga. Enjoy a camel trek across the dunes at sunset and spend the night in a Berber desert camp, with music, dinner, and stargazing.
Day 3 — Merzouga Desert → Ziz Valley → Midelt
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, then return to Merzouga village by camel or 4×4. After breakfast, drive north through Errachidia and the scenic Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves. Continue to Midelt, a charming town nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight stay in Midelt.
Day 4 — Midelt → Ifrane → Fez
After breakfast, travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing Azrou’s cedar forests, where you may spot wild monkeys. Stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before arriving in Fez by the afternoon. Drop-off at your accommodation, marking the end of your 4-day Marrakech to Fez adventure.
